George E. Murphy

Savannah- George E. Murphy, 64, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010.
He was a native of Savannah and 1964 graduate of Benedictine Military School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and later retired from WTOC Television.
Survivors include two sisters, Rose Ellen Simpson, Maureen M. Parris Tommy and five nieces and nephews.
The family plans to have a private service to celebrate his life.

To George's Family, I knew George when he was a news reporter back in the 70's ...i worked in the City Manager's Office and knew George well....in fact George and i dated for a few years...he was a wonderful man...so kind and caring...he will be missed dearly.
